Murray P. Tomlin, 89, of Emmitsburg, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at St. Catherine's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Emmitsburg.

Born May 17, 1923, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Lewis Daniel and Phoebe Mae Fogle Tomlin. He was the husband of the late Lillian Peterson Tomlin, his second wife.

He was a veteran of the Navy, serving during World War II on the U.S.S. New York. He worked as a quality control expert with Bendix Corporation in Towson for 30 years. He enjoyed spending time on the Potomac River fishing and water skiing.

Surviving are children Lynn Weaver and husband Dale, Nancy Starner and husband Robert, Reed Tomlin, Cathy Tibbs, Brian Tomlin and wife Karla, and Laurie Waldrup, all of Westminster; a former spouse, Peggy Tomlin, of Westminster; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings John Tomlin, Irene Tomlin and Minnie Cochise.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster.

Services and interment, with military honors, will be private in the Westminster Cemetery.
