Myrtle May (Wenk) Carlin, 95, of New Windsor, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at her home, following an extended illness.

Born Aug. 16, 1917, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late John William and Bertha Lola "Bertie" Richards Wenk. She was the wife of G. Joseph Carlin, who predeceased her in 1998.

Carlin and her husband owned and operated the Mount Olive Orchard, near New Windsor, from 1963 to 1973. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Libertytown, where she served for many years cleaning the church.

She enjoyed cooking and baking.

Surviving are son and Michael and wife Kathleen Carlin, of New Windsor; grandson Christopher M. Carlin and wife Dinah, of Wilmington, NC; and great-grandsons Drake and Cole Carlin.

She was predeceased by her brothers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown with a Christian wake service at 8 p.m.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 9190 Church St., Libertytown, with Monsignor John Dietzenbach and the Rev. Fr. Jason Worley officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Peter's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 278, Libertytown, MD 21762, or Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
