Nancy Jo Compton Bodnar, 79, of Manchester MD, formerly of Westminster MD, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born on April 15, 1937 and originally from Upper Tract, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Macie (Harold) Compton. She was the wife of the late Denny Bodnar, her husband of 50 years, who died in 2009. Nancy was a graduate of Davis & Elkins College, Elkins West Virginia and held her Masters degree from Western Maryland College (McDaniel College). She was retired from office administration for the Carroll County Education Association and prior to that having been librarian at Sandy Mount Elementary School. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Westminster, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Door to Virtue Lodge. Surviving are son Darryl Bodnar and fiancee Lauri Kelly of Manchester; grandchildren Adam Bodnar of Westminster and Rebecca Bodnar of Manchester. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 2:00 pm. at the First United Presbyterian Church, 65 Washington Rd., Westminster with her pastor Rev. Matthew Glasgow officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Sheppard Staff, P.O. Box 127, Westminster, MD 21158 or to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157. Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
