Nancy Lee Lescalleet, age 83, of Westminster, died Monday, September 18, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House, following a brief illness. Born September 12, 1934 in Silver Run, she was the daughter of the late Claude V. Grinder and Hilda Fleischman Grinder Otto. She was the wife of Carl "Bud" Lescalleet, her husband of 63 years. Mrs. Lescalleet was a 1953 graduate of Elmer Wolfe High School, Union Bridge. She and her husband were dairy farmers in Frederick County for 15 years before settling in Carroll County. She was also employed with various sewing factories in the area and retired to provide care for her granddaughter. She had attended Taneytown Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, watching "Gunsmoke" and "Andy Griffith", and sitting on her back porch enjoying nature and watching birds and animals. She loved going on trips and spending time with her family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are granddaughters, Brittany Lescalleet and husband, Erik Dandurand and Katlyn Lescalleet, all of Taneytown; great-granddaughter, Elyse Dandurand; son, Keith Lescalleet of Taneytown; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by half-sisters, Lucilla Crawmer and Arlene Hoy; and half-brother, Cleatus "Pete" Grinder. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jared Pankhurst officiating. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
