Nancy Roelke Sullivan, 72, of Peoria, Ariz., and formerly of Westminster, died at her home Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, following a two-year struggle with dementia.

Born Jan. 4, 1940, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Ruth and A. Millard Roelke, of Uniontown. She was the wife of David M. Sullivan, to whom she was married to for more than 47 years.

She was a 1958 graduate of Union Bridge High School and graduated from Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, in 1962.

After graduation from college, she worked in the Human Resources Department for the United Technology in Sunnyvale, Calif.; Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore; General Electric Information Services in Rockville; and Amdahl Corp. in Sunnyvale.

She was one of the original members of the Carroll County Choral Society. She was a member of the Junior Womens Club of Westminster and served one term as president.

Surviving are cousins Carolyn Urban, of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; Cathy Vormelker, of Gross Point Woods, Mich.; Sylvia Haines, of Union Bridge; and Susan Roelke, of Taneytown.

A burial and a remembrance ceremony will be held later this winter in Westminster.
