Nathan Alfred Kale, Jr., 77, of Baltimore passed away on June 17, 2015 in Maine. He was born on November 7, 1937 to the late Nathan A. Kale, Sr. and Velma O. (nee Blackwelder) Kale. He was married to Barbara R. (nee Martel) Kale. Nathan was born in Rockwell, North Carolina and moved to Baltimore with his family in April, 1942. He was a graduate of Polytechnic Institute in Baltimore, class of 1955 and graduated from Susquehanna University, class of 1960. Nathan attended Gettysburg Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1963 as a Lutheran Minister, serving his first Parish at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Arcadia and Christ Church in Trenton. He retired from the ministry in 1986 and went on to become the Associate Registrar at the University of Baltimore where he stayed until his retirement in 2008. He also worked at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, MD for 20 years doing various jobs, from answering phones, greeting visitors and keeping their records. Nathan died suddenly while vacationing with his wife in Ogunquit, Maine. He is survived by his wife Barbara R. Kale; son Nathan Scott Kale of Owings Mills; daughter Dr. Lindsey S. Daniels of Aberdeen, MD; brothers William P. Kale of Finksburg and F. Steven Kale of Texas; granddaughter Katelyn Kale. Memorial service will be held at the Augsburg Lutheran Home, 6811 Campfield Road, Baltimore, MD 21207 on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00am.
