Nelson James Parker, 80, of New Oxford, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the Brethern Home Community in New Oxford.

Born Nov. 24, 1933, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Melvin and Catherine Brown Parker. He was the husband of Shirley Jean Sefton Parker, his wife of 58 years.

He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Cloverland Dairy as an HVAC technician.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus in Woodlawn and the Loyal Order of Moose, Reisterstown Lodge No. 1577. He enjoyed fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Diana and John Shedlock, of Manchester, Deborah and Wayne Geare, of Bel Air, Corinne and Mario Magasic, of Shamong, N.J.; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Michele Parker, of Hanover, Pa.; grandchildren and spouses Ryan Meehan, Brooke and Ryan Kessler, Noah and Crystal Parker, Rachel Parker, Alex Magasic, Gabriella Magasic and Dellaney and Hailey Parker; step-grandsons Ben and Alex Cluster; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kessler, Noah Parker, Cody Parker, Rylee Kessler and Stephanie Parker; and sister-in-law and husband Denise and Gary Masimore, of Gettysburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

The funeral service and interment will be private.
