Nicholas Alfred Delia, 83, of Carroll Lutheran Village, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. Nicholas was the loving husband of Rita Marie (Schwietering) Delia whom he married on August 22, 1959. He was born on September 28, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Alfred and Mary V. (Delia) Delia. Nicholas earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and his MBA from Loyola University in Baltimore. Nicholas was employed as an Electrical Engineer by General Electric (GE) where he worked in Industrial Sales. In addition, he taught Mathematics and Electrical Apprentice courses at a variety of colleges along the East Coast. Nicholas was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his wife, he leaves his four daughters; Jennifer (Keith) Lerche of Finksburg, Stephanie (Charlie) McGarrell of Carlisle, PA, Christine (Louis) Capece of Collegeville, PA and Bernadette Crenshaw of Collegeville, PA. Nicholas is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; Justin, Joshua, Jessica, Nicholas, Audrey, Aaron, Rachel, Matthew, Cassidy and Carson. He also leaves one great-grandson, Henry, and many loving nieces and nephews. Nicholas was very active in many committees and activities at Carroll Lutheran Village where he and his wife lived for the past 13 years. He was a member of the Elks and MISGA (Maryland Interclub Senior Golf Association). Nicholas enjoyed golfing, fishing, poker, bridge but, most of all, he loved being with his family. A Memorial Mass for Nicholas will be held at St. John Catholic Church, Westminster, MD on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to Carroll Hospice - Dove House, 292 Stoner Rd, Westminster, MD 21157 or online at Arrangements are provided by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, MD.
