Noah Patrick "Pat" Adams, 67, of Jacksonville, NC, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017at his home. Pat was born on May 7, 1950 in Charleston, WVA and was the oldest child of Don and Lola Adams. Pat was a 1968 graduate of Chopticon High School in St. Mary's County, Maryland. He received his Chemistry Degree from UMBC and was nominated for a Nobel prize in Science for his research during that time. He also attended the University of Utah while working on his doctorate in Theoretical Physics. He did research in his department there for many years before moving to Pocatello, Idaho where he did research and development in the Aerospace industry for NASA. He later moved to North Carolina where he eventually retired living out his days in Jacksonville. Pat was a life-long student, always reading and learning. He cared deeply about the environment. He loved to play his guitar and spent hours on the computer reaching out to friends in many countries around the world. He also tutored students in math and science throughout his life right up to the week before he passed. Pat was soft spoken and known to all as an intelligent, funny and caring man. He was deeply loved by his family who will miss him dearly. Surviving in addition to his parents are his siblings Martha Bubert (Howdy), Don Adams, Jr., Frances Cincotta (Peter); and nine nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel in January.
