Noel "Noelly" Hough, 78, of New Windsor, Maryland, died on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Born December 14, 1939, in Bronxville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rodney Addison Cover, Sr., and Margaret Louise Stitely Cover. She was the granddaughter of the late Dr. L. C. Stitely and Bessie Bennett Stitely of New Windsor. Noel attended school in Bronxville from kindergarten through high school and graduated in 1957. On August 19, 1967, she wed Gerard "Jerry" Hough, her husband of 50 years who died in 2017. They lived in New York City for many years before eventually moving to Hartsdale, NY. They shared a love for animals and all kinds of music from the Rolling Stones to Mendelssohn and Beethoven. They loved the opera and were also avid readers. Noel loved the English mysteries of Anne Perry and the Poirot classics by Agatha Christie. Noel is survived by her son Rodney Cover Hough and his wife Louise (Peneguy) of Mountainside, NJ, and their daughters, Eleanor Noel Hough and Adair Allen Hough, four nieces, and her devoted brother Robert Stitely Cover of New Windsor. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerard "Jerry" Hough, her brother Rodney Cover and her sister Anne Briggs. A special thank you to Carroll Hospice and the staff at Oakland Manor for their loving care and support during the last few months of her life. We also would like to thank Pritts Funeral Home for all of the arrangements. Although they lived on the Stitely family farm in New Windsor in recent years, Noel and Gerard remained loyal to their roots in New York where they both lived for over 50 years. A joint memorial service will be held in the spring at Christ Church Bronxville, where Noel was baptized and she and her family attended. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD 21157.
