Norma Isabelle Marick, 95, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Nov. 6, 1916, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Flaminio and Mary Corradi Rossi. She was the wife of George J. Marick, her husband of 48 years, whom she married Sept. 22, 1938, and who died in 1986.

A resident of Carroll County in the Mount Airy area since 1949, she was active, until recently, in St. Michael's Church in Poplar Springs, tending to the altar and helping with Monday night bingo. She was a dynamic member of the Mount Airy Senior and Community Center 55 Plus Club, and she enjoyed dancing and exercise.

Previously she and her husband were active in several square and round dance clubs. In her youth she worked at Community Garage, the family business in Dundalk, as bookkeeper and test driver of motorcycles. She and her husband thrived on their Mount Airy farm, where she was a homemaker and family matriarch.

She was of the Catholic faith, and was known for her smile and uplifting presence. Most recently, she enjoyed being on the go, ready for each day's adventures, donned in her pink sneakers, brightly colored outfits and matching accessories.

She led a life of service to her family, friends and community, including much time and energy volunteered to the Mount Airy fire company ladies auxiliary.

Surviving are children Anthony Marick and wife Waltraud, and Joseph Marick and wife Vicki, all of Mount Airy, Charlotte Abell and partner Robert Harrod Jr., of Winfield, Michael Marick and wife Audrey, of Lisbon, Mary O'Brien and husband Maurice, of Tralee, Ireland, Gina Miller and partner Bill Snyder, and John Marick and wife Davena, all of Sykesville; grandchildren Anthony and Dieter Marick, Rolf Winter and Regina Ehrbarth, Melissa Abell, Paul J. She was predeceased by brothers Joseph, William, Albino and Frank Rossi; sisters Enes Stewart and Carmen Rossi; and a grandson, Peter Winter.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Poplar Springs, 1125 St. Michael's Road, Mount Airy, with the Rev. Michael J. Ruane as the celebrant. Interment will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Poplar Springs.
