Norman Harry Flohr, 88, of Baltimore, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at home. Born Oct. 3, 1926 in Gamber, he was the son of the late Harry R. Flohr and Elva M. Barber Flohr. His wife of 66 years, Helen Louise Flohr, died July 9, 2013. Before retiring he owned and operated his own State Farm Insurance Agency and prior to that worked at Koontz Creamery as a route salesman. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, woodcarving, yard work, gardening, traveling with his wife to all 50 states, and spending winters at his house in Punta Gorda, FL. He is survived by daughters and son-in-law Patty and Donald Faust of Belair, Kathy Reid of Hudson, FL, sister Marilyn "Peachie" Caple and husband David of Finksburg. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister Madeline "Sis" Nusbaum, a brother Francis Flohr and sister-in-law Dorothy Flohr. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 noon at the funeral home with Rev. Robert T. Wellman, of Sandymount United Methodist Church officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Westminster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
