Norman Thomas Lennon, 59, of Sykesville, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Gilchrist Hospice of Howard County.

Born Aug. 22, 1954, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he was the son of Thomas and Norma Lennon, of Ellicott City. He was the husband of Terry A. Streett Lennon.

He had been a homebuilder. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and trips to Deep Creek Lake. He had attended Friendship Baptist Church in Sykesville.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are stepchildren Joe, Brandon and Nikki Grimes, all of Sykesville, and Melanie Martlock, of Ellicott City; brother and sister-in-law Paul and Theresa Lennon, of Sykesville; father-in-law and mother-in-law Wayne and Patricia Shifflett, of Sykesville; a niece, Kristy Lennon, of Sykesville; and a nephew, Dustin Lennon, of Sykesville.

He was predeceased by a son, Matthew Thomas Lennon, who died in 2009.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service, 11 a.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment will be private.
