Opaline Livesay, 83, of Sykesville, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

Born Aug. 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Birdie Manis Stapleton. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Livesay.

She was a retired licensed practical nurse from Springfield Hospital Center, where she received several awards for outstanding service and dedication to the job. She was a member in good standing of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in West Friendship.

Surviving are daughters and son-in-law Pamela C. Livesay, of Owings Mills, and Sherry and Joseph Finzel, of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Deborah Livesay, of Eldersburg; a brother, Kenneth B. Stapleton, of Tennessee; a sister, Cecil Fleenor, of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Bobby Livesay; sisters Maybelle and Doris Livesay; and brothers Robert Stapleton Jr., Elmer and Eugene Stapleton.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in West Friendship, with the Rev. Billy Phoebus officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
