Patricia Ann Leister, 72, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Hampstead, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at York Hospital in York, Pa.

Born July 15, 1941, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Eyler Milyard. She was the wife of Stuart O. Leister, who died in 2003.

She was a 1959 graduate of Frederick High School and was employed by the State of Maryland at the Carroll County Health Department in Westminster from October 1962 until September 2003.

She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hampstead. She had been a member of the Soroptimist International of Carroll County from 1968 until its dissolution in 2003, and was a member of the Carroll County Farm Bureau's Women's Committee for many years. She was a former volunteer at the Carroll County Farm Bureau, a member of the North Carroll Democrat Club, an election judge in Hampstead for many years and a volunteer for the Hampstead Train Station Restoration Committee.

Surviving are brother Wade H. Milyard Sr. and wife Jeannine M., of Walkersville; nephews Wade H. Milyard Jr. and wife Jeana, of Walkersville, Todd B. Milyard and wife Whitney, of Belleville, Ill., Luke J. Milyard and wife Haley, of Suffolk, Va., and Jeffrey and Gregory Leister; nieces Melissa Ann Proctor and husband Matthew, of Walkersville, Pamela R. and Virginia L. Garrettson, and Carol Leister Phillips; a sister-in-law, Victoria Leister Garrettson; and brother-in-law Carroll Jacob and wife Martha Jean Leister.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service, noon Friday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, with the Rev. George E. Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
