Patricia Ann Diseroad, 87 of Manchester, MD. passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 after fighting cancer for 8 years. Known as "Pat" to most and "Patty" to some close relatives. Pat was the daughter of the late Fred W. Kistler Sr. and Bessie Mae (Leech) Kistler. Born in Bloomsburg, PA., Pat was raised on the family farm located along the North Branch of the Susquehanna River. Pat and her husband, Donald were married 64 years. Pat was a 1952 graduate of Bloomsburg State Teachers College (now Bloomsburg University). Proud of her farming background, Pat delighted in recounting her memories of growing up on the family farm. After her marriage, she taught school for several years before choosing the career of a full time mother and homemaker. She was an accomplished knitter and counted cross stitcher crafting many beautiful examples of counted cross stitchery. For over 25 years, while residing in Baltimore County, she was a member and served several terms as an officer of the Catonsville/Palestine DeMolay Parents Club. A lifelong Lutheran, Pat was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester. Before her health failed, she served on Immanuel's Altar Guild and was a member of the Women of the E.L.C.A. Pat was especially proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren particularly the scholastic and athletic accomplishments of her grandchildren, Kiel, Emily, Dan and Katie. While able, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's Athletic events. Following the 2016 recurrence of cancer, Pat set three goals for herself: (1) attending the college graduation of her granddaughter Emily; (2) attending the high school graduation of grandson Daniel and (3) attending the 2016 annual Kistler Family Reunion. With the assistance her caregiver, Katherine Gorelick, Pat accomplished all three goals. She attended Emily's May, 2016 graduation, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore; Daniel's June 2016 graduation with Honors from Manchester Valley High School; and the August, 2016 Kistler Family Reunion. In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by children; Donna (Gary) Patton of Pleasant Hill, CA.; David (Frances) of Lineboro, MD. and Kurt (devoted companion Cathy Henry) of Paedena, MD. and grandchildren; Kiel and Reed Stroupe, Emily, Daniel (Dan) and Katherine (Katie) Diseroad and a great granddaughter; Kava Gage. She is also survived by a brother and sister in law; Fred W. Kistler, Jr. and Rebecca Kistler of Orangeville, PA., a sister; Janet M. Vought of Danville, PA. and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. In accordance with Pat's wishes, her remains were cremated and there will be no viewing. A service celebrating Pat's life will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3184 Church St., Manchester, MD. 21102 on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:30am. The family will receive friends from 9:30am. until the time of service at the church. An interment service will be held in the future in the Creveling Cemetery, Bloomsburg, PA.
