Patricia Louise Long, 74, of Westminster passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Sinai Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1941 in Carroll County, and was the daughter of the late Franklin and Ethel (Close) Bell. Twice married she was the loving wife of Charles D. Long, Sr., and the late James Norman Byers who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. Patricia was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1959. She was employed for the Carroll County Times in the circulation department and retired after working there for 30 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Littlestown VFW Post 6954. Surviving her in addition to her husband are daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Will Norris of Maugansville, daughter and son-in-law Bobbi and David Russ of Westminster, step-daughter and step son-in-law Eurith and Brad Emerson of Hanover, PA, son and daughter-in-law C.D., Jr. and Pamela Long of Delaware; sister-in-law Janet Carr of Westminster; grandchildren Travis Barnhart, Amanda Coveney, Danny Watkins, Brandon Godfrey, Jessica Schoolcraft, Shane Cisco, Kalina Frazer; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by step-daughter Diana Whisler. Services and interment will be private. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel.
