Patrick Joseph "Pat" Dean, 69, of Finksburg, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at home.

Born Sept. 24, 1944, in St. Albans, N.Y., he was the son of the late Bernard and Mary Riley Dean. He was the husband of Elaine Pollastro Dean, his wife of 44 years.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1963 until 1969 and was a member of the Marine Corps League of Carroll County.  He was retired from Lucent Technologies as an accountant.

He was also a member of St. John Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf, bowling, reading and spending time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Raymond P. and wife Theresa Dean, of Forest Hill, and Brian J. Dean, of Baltimore; a brother, Charles Dean, of Freeport, N.Y.; grandchildren Olivia, Ethan and Ryan Dean; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by seven brothers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where a Marine Corps League memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with the Rev. John Lesnick as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Garrison Forest in Owings Mills.
