Paul Chalson, 88, of Westminster, died Dec. 7, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born March 3, 1924, in New York, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth Giles Chalson, who died in 2007.

He graduated from Ursinus College, and was an Air Force veteran who served in World War II. He worked for the Social Security Administration as a claims analyst.

He was a golfer, spoke five languages and was a supporter of Grace Fellowship Church. He enjoyed reading murder mystery books and volunteering at Sandymount Elementary.

Surviving are children Cathy Sencindiver and husband Chip Sencindiver, of Martinsburg, W. Va.; Bruce Chalson and wife Sandy Chalson, of Gastonia, N.C.; and Charles Chalson and wife Peggy Chalson, of Baltimore; grandchildren Becky Chalson, of Marlton, N.J.; Heather Clayton and husband Gabe, of Mineola, Texas; Chris Sencindiver, of Martinsburg; and great-grandchildren Chester Clayton and Ayleigh Clayton.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meadow Branch Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. David Schafer of St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll County Food Sunday, 10 Distillery Drive Wesminster, MD 21157.
