Paul Franklin Zepp, 82, of Hampstead, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Aug. 26, 1930, in Westminster, he was the son of the late Ivan and Harriett Schaffer Zepp. He was the husband of Althea Snyder Zepp, his wife of 60 years.

He served in the Army from 1948 to 1951, and had been a farmer most of his life. He was a member of American Legion Post 200 in Hampstead, VFW Post No. 467 and the United Coon Hunters Association.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Pamela Nicewarner and husband Mike Nicewarner, of Charlestown, W.Va., Debra Eckard and fiance Dave Collier, of Germantown, and Paula Zepp Shipley and husband Charles R. Shipley Jr., of Westminster; sons Russell Zepp and wife Stacy Zepp, and Paul T. Zepp and wife Judy Zepp, all of Manchester; a brother, Richard Zepp, of Glen Rock, Pa.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Cassandra Jane Shipley, on March 21.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Carrollton Church of God in Finksburg, with the Rev. David Meador officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
