Paul Jay Anderson, 70, of Manchester, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Transitions Health Care in Sykesville.

Born Dec. 2, 1941, in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Paul Joseph and Mary Wilmot Sullivan Anderson. He was the husband of Doris Kay Hamrick Anderson, his wife 38 years.

Prior to retirement, he had worked in maintenance at Black & Decker for 38 years, and then worked at Walmart in Westminster.

He attended St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hampstead. He was a member of the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company, the Hampstead volunteer fire company, and was a life member of the Union Bridge volunteer fire company. He enjoyed helping with the fire company carnival in Union Bridge.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Tina Miller and Donna Albaugh, both of Manchester; sons,, John Brooks, of Union Bridge, and Glenn Welch, of Ohio; a sister, Catherine Rose Brown, of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, John Robert Anderson.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr. and the Rev. Richard Michael officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
