Rockville, MD & formerly Littlestown, PA died Nov. 7th at age 79 leaving a wife of 57 yrs, Mary (Swope) Barnes (formerly of Bonneauville, PA), 2 sons, Christopher (Jill) & Curtis (Claudia) Barnes, 7 daughters, Cynthia (Frank Howes),Christina & Cathryn Barnes, Carolyn (Montgomery Schmidt), Corinna (Adam Burgess), Candice(Michael Turner) & Colleen, (Ryan Estabrook) plus 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, & another son, Carlton predeceased him. The son of the late Robert & Agnes (Bauerlien) Barnes, Littlestown & both formerly of Carroll Co., he is also survived by siblings, Arthur (Marie Bevenour) Barnes, Lester (Dorothy Storm) Barnes, Darlene (Gary) Guise, all of Littlestown & James (Janet Rang) Barnes, Owings Mills, MD. He was a member of the Littlestown Class of 1953 & owned Barnes Construction Co, Gaithersburg, MD for 55 yrs. Viewing Wed. 3-5 & 7-9pm at Pumphrey Funeral Home & Thur. 10:30am mass at St Patrick's Catholic Church, both in Rockville. In lieu of flowers, donations to Montgomery Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100 or St. Patrick's, 4101 Norbeck Rd. both in Rockville, MD 20850. Check funeral home website.
