Pauline Harp "Peanie" Tracey, died Sunday, September 17, 2017 at her home. Born September 12, 1929 in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late Paul Jacob Harp and the late Hazel Parker Harp. She was the beloved wife of the late Quintin Royston Tracey who died in 2011, to whom she was married to for 61 years. She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She was a 1947 graduate of Sykesville High School. She was a longtime member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Sykesville. She joined the church and was a member of the church choir since she was 12 years old. She served as a hostess at the church for years at church festivities. She was a two term President of the United Methodist Women and taught 2nd and 4th grade Sunday School for many years. She was a long time member of the South Carroll Lioness Lions Club where she received the Melvin Jones award, the highest honor to be offered in the Lions/Lioness Club. She is survived by her beloved sister Lois Harp Mathis of Sykesville, nieces and nephew Phyllis Naumann, Beverly Rouse, Lou Ann Steele, James P. Luers Jr., Deborah Bogas, Amy Mathis, Gene and Garry Bosley, and Sherry Crowl, sister-in-law Dorothy E. Bosley, numerous great nieces and great nephews, by her beloved neighbors Rosetta and Chuck Dungan and their children Cathy Dungan Jones, Cheryl Dungan Leonardi M.D., and Sue Ellen Dungan Lau, and by her dear friend Karen Ruch. She was predeceased by her son Craig Richard Tracey, by her sisters Marilyn "Molly" Harp Rash, and Beverly Parker Harp Luers, and by her brothers-in-law James O. Mathis, Edwin E. Rash, and James P. Luers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment in Old Oakland Cemetery, Sykesville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oakland UMC, 5901 Mineral Hill Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784 or to the Oakland UMC Cemetery Fund, c/o 6170 Oakland Mills Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784.
