Pauline Leverne Mankamyer Smith, 97, of Sykesville, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Brinton Woods Health Care Center in Sykesville.

Born Oct. 6, 1915, in Sand Patch, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Eleanor Bittner Mankamyer. She was the wife of Walter William Smith, who died Oct. 15, 1994.

She was a factory worker with Crosse and Blackwell, now known as Nestle Company, in Baltimore. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, watching every game, and she also enjoyed watching TV, especially "Dancing With the Stars."

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law John W. and Dorothy K. Smith, of Sykesville; grandchildren Wayne Smith, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Heather Young, of Baltimore; great-grandchildren Brandon, Ashelynn and Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by nine siblings.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a service, noon Friday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
