Peggy S. Hidey, Nee Sewell, age 88, wife of the late Page Ellsworth Hidey, Passed away on her birthday, February 20. Born in Baltimore City, Mrs. Hidey graduated from Western High School With straight A's. She became involved with Christian Endeavor in her teens and there met her husband Ells, and together they designed and built their family home on the Hidey Farm in Baltimore County. She loved homemaking, dancing, roller skating, music, sewing, gardening, and canning. She won many blue ribbons at the MD State Fair. An accomplished bowler, she bowled regularly with Ells in the Salem Church league. After Ells' death in 1967, she became a day care director, a career spanning 30 years, and served as a NAEYC officer. She also held part-time jobs to be able to send all her children to college. In 1976, she moved to Eldersburg in Carroll County and lived with her family on the Hidey farm in Woodbine. Peggy is survived by her four children, Janice Hidey, Diane Hidey, Barry Hidey and Karen Belinko, daughter-in-law Holly, son-in-law Joe, four grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Garon and Camden, and three great-grandchildren. The Family will receive friends on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 7-9 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11 AM at Wards Chapel United Methodist Church at 11023 Liberty Rd, Randallstown, MD 21133. Interment Lake View Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carroll County Young Life 55 Ridge Rd. Westminster, MD 21157 or Howard County Young Life 3310 St. Johns Lane Ellicott City, MD 21042
