Peter Carmello Buscemi, 94, of Baltimore, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at Foxmoor Assisted Living in Gaithersburg.

Born Dec. 17, 1919, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Paul and Rosina "Rosaria" Lo Presti Zingo Buscemi. He was the husband of Lorraine Lang Buscemi, his wife of 70 years.

He was the last surviving child of eight children. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during World War II, as a technician fifth grade. He was a welder with General Motors.

He was initiated in the First Degree and received the honors of the Third Degree of the Knights of Columbus in 1958. He was an avid duck pin bowler and bowled with the Idelwyde Bowling League.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Paul Buscemi, of Sykesville; grandchildren Vincent P. Buscemi and wife Sharon, of Westminster, and Angela M. Buscemi, of Hanover, Pa.; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke P. Buscemi.

He was predeceased by a brother, Christopher J. Buscemi.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium.
