Phyllis Genevra Ullman, age 97, formerly of Westminster, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Oakland Manor Assisted Living, Sykesville. Born July 4, 1920 in Harrietsville, OH, she was the daughter of the late Carl Thomas Stevens and Edith Bonar Stevens. She was the wife of the late James B. Ullman, who predeceased her in 1977. A longtime resident of Circleville, OH, she had been the owner/operator of Ullman's Flower Shop with her husband. She moved to Maryland in the early 1980s to be closer to family, volunteered at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, served as the hospital auxiliary's president and was an active member of Bethesda Methodist Church in Sykesville. Always an avid and knowledgeable baseball fan, she was never far from a radio broadcast of a Cincinnati Reds game before evolving into a Baltimore Orioles fan. Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Jane Adams and husband Terry of Hanover, PA; granddaughters, Tracy Hunter of Greenbackville, VA and Jodi Smith of Hanover; five great-grandchildren; sister, Oneita Nobbs of Walnut, CA; and brother, Frank Stevens of Fly, OH and several nieces and nephews who will always cherish the role "Aunt Nevie" played in their lives. She was predeceased by a newborn son and two brothers, William and Charles 'Lindy' Stevens. A memorial service will be held in Marietta, OH and her ashes will be buried next to her husband at Stafford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD 21157.
