Ralph Daniel "Danny" Pickett, 52, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at home.

Born Jan. 14, 1960, in Olney, he was the son of Alice M. Hoben Pickett, of Eldersburg, and the late James A. Pickett. He was the husband of Sandra Ness Pickett, to whom he was married 31 years.

He was a self-employed tree surgeon. He attended Louisville Bible Church in Sykesville and enjoyed hunting, extensive traveling, tree work, and horseback riding.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are daughters Danielle Hale and husband Jeremy, of Manchester, Rebecca Pickett and companion Clint Powell, of South Carolina, and Goldie Wetzel and husband Nathaniel, of Virginia Beach, Va.; son Paul Pickett, of Westminster; brothers James Pickett, of Finksburg, and Robert "Bobby" Pickett, of Hanover, PA; sisters Debbie Gardner, of Tennessee, Sharon Pickett and Joyce Jones, both of Sykesville; six grandchildren Faith Hale, Grace Hale, Joshua Hale, Ava Hale, Silas Wetzel and Athena Wetzel; mother-in-law Trudi Ness; and several other extended family members and friends.

Friends may call at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, 3:30-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Plunkert officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eline Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
