Ralph Eugene Ruby, 75, of Hampstead, died on Friday July 18, 2014 at the Dove House in Westminster. Born June 5, 1939 in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Rose L. Schaffer Ruby and William Albert Ruby. He had been a highway technician with the State Highway Administration prior to retirement. He had been a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was a life member of Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department where he helped with the carnivals and suppers. He loved hunting with his brothers and friends and listening to Blue Grass Music. His friends described him as a very giving man. Surviving is his son, Bryan Ruby of Westminster, granddaughter Jessica Marie Ruby and brother Richard Ruby. He was predeceased by sisters Virginia and Rose Marie Ruby and a brother Dave Ruby. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor George E. Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 231, Hampstead, MD 21074 or to the Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
