Raymond Paul Markwitz, 85, of Westminster, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his residence. Born April 17, 1930 in Woodlawn, he was the son of the late Claire E. Smith and Paul Joseph Markwitz. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bobbie Carolyn Markwitz. Before retiring he worked as a civil engineer for Baltimore County. He graduated from Catonsville High School in 1949. He enjoyed flying as a private pilot, woodworking, spending time with his dogs, fishing, the beach and playing his ukulele. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Michael Markwitz and wife Elyse and J. Scott Markwitz, and a granddaughter Flyn Markwitz, all of Westminster. A Life Celebration Party will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Homecare Maryland, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
