On September 17, 2016, Raymond K. Miles, Jr., Beloved Husband of Concetta Vinci Miles; devoted father of Raymond L. Miles and wife Jane of Eldersburg, MD, Concetta M. Busick and husband William of Wardsboro, VT, Robert J. Miles of Baltimore City, Carolyn A. Miles of Owings Mills, MD, and Charles W. Miles and wife Pam Hahn of Phoenix, AZ; loving grandfather of R. Christopher Foxwell, Ann M. Miles, Patrick D. Foxwell, Angelina R. Saunders, Kimberly A. Gresh, Elizabeth Brown, Carleen M. Busick, and Katherine R. Miles; cherished great grandfather of Nicole M. Dunn, Ryan Evans, Raylee M. Higgins, and Ethan T. Gresh. Mr. Miles was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Carolyn Miles, his brother Louis Miles and his great granddaughter Madelyn R. Gresh. Mr. Miles was born in Baltimore and was a longtime resident of Eldersburg, MD. He graduated from Baltimore City College and was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. Mr. Miles had a successful career as a newspaper distributor for the Baltimore Sunpapers and the News American in Southeast Carroll County for many years. He was a RC model airplane enthusiast and was a past President of the Westminster Aeromodelers Club. Mr. Miles was an accomplished model builder specializing in replicas of historic Maryland boats, streetcars, and lighthouses. Several of his pieces are on display at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum, the Richardson Maritime Museum in Cambridge, MD, and at the Historic St. Mary's City Museum in St. Mary's City, MD. For the past two years, Mr. Miles resided with his wife and friends at Sun Valley Assisted Living in Westminster. Family and friends are invited to call at the Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville Inc., 1630 Edmondson Ave. Catonsville, MD 21228 on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. where A Memorial Service will follow. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a in his name.
