Raymond Randle "Fuzz" Rill Jr., 64, of Hampstead, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born Jan. 24, 1949, in Hampstead, he was the son of Raymond R. Rill Sr. of Hampstead, and the late Mary Ann Ibex Rill.

He had served in the Marine Corps from 1969 to 1973. He was a life member in the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company for 47 years, where he was very active and served in numerous offices, including fire chief and board of managers.

He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, a Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute instructor and a  member of the American Legion.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are brothers Ronald L. Rill, and Robert R. Rill and wife Diana, all of Hampstead; nieces Misty L. Strevig and husband Brett, and Kristina M. Scarpati and husband Jim, all of Hampstead, and Ronda Nichols and husband Bob, of Waynesboro, Pa.; nephews Trevor Rill, of Reisterstown, and Clint Renfro and wife Erin, of Alaska; a great-niece, Erin Strevig, of Hampstead; and great-nephew Shawn Strevig and wife Brittany, of Westminster.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, where a fire company memorial service will be held at 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Denise Millett officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh United Methodist Cemetery.
