Raymond William Hare Sr., 87, of Finksburg, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born June 1, 1926, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John Hare and Mae Burke Hare. He was the husband of Mildred Louise Hare, who died Sept. 24, 2004.

Before retiring, he worked as an estimator-office manager for Baltimore Sealing Company. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of St. John Catholic Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary T. Hare Cates, of Chester; son and daughter-in-law Raymond W. Jr. and Bonnie Hare, of Millers; a sister, Regina Roche, of New Jersey; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, with military honors.
