Dr. Richard A. "Rick" Jones, 87, of Westminster, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Westminster Ridge. Born on May 12, 1929, in New Windsor, MD, he was the son of the late Alma Shipley Jones and Arvin P. Jones. He was the loving husband of 66 years to Yvonne M. "Bonnie" Jones. Before retiring, he worked as the pathologist and medical examiner for Carroll County. He was a veteran of the Air Force and graduated from Bridgewater College and the University of Maryland. He was a member of the Westminster Church of the Brethren, Westminster Elks Lodge No. 2277, Bonds Meadow Rotary, VFW Molleville Post No. 467, and Moose Lodge No. 1381. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, farming, and flying his own plane. Besides his wife, he is survived by children and spouses: Raymond A. Jones and wife, Debbie, of Salisbury, MD, Linda Y. Haugh and husband, Jeffrey, of Westminster, and Ronald A. Jones and wife, Lori, of Westminster; a sister, Shirley Long, of Frederick; a brother, Euchlaid Jones and wife, Susan, of Peru, NY; grandchildren: Michael and Stephen Jones, Justin Haugh and wife, Sarah, Brandon Haugh and wife, Jessica, and Tiffany Haugh, Teal Hensel and husband, Jay, and RJ Jones; and great-grandchildren: Lucy, Lola, Savannah "Thelma", Emery, and Lily. He was predeceased by a son, Russell A. Jones; and great-granddaughter, Emma. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 3, 2016, from 9:30am until time of memorial service at 10:30am, at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with Rev. Art Monroe officiating. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at the Westminster Elks Lodge, 538 Gorsuch Rd., Westminster, MD 21157.
