Richard Allen Muse, 59, of Westminster, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center from cardiac arrest.

Born Oct. 24, 1952, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Eugene Ireland Muse and Nellie Jordan Muse.

He was a master carpenter working for Ryland Homes, was the owner of RAM Construction Company and worked on the Baltimore Subway. After retiring from construction he was a handyman who enjoyed helping others who could not afford it.

He enjoyed football, NASCAR and his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Surviving are a son, Richard "Allen" Muse, of Sykesville; daughters and son-in-law Emilee Muse Bonds and husband Mike, of Sykesville, and Lynsey Danielle Crowl, of Westminster; a brother, Kerry R. Muse, of Annapolis; a sister, Barbara J. Myers, of Westminster; grandchildren Elijah Muse-Costley, Lyric Muse-Costley, Kaiya Muse-Costley and Imani Costley; and nieces and nephews Brya and Brock Myers, Kelly Plantz, Todd and Chad Muse.

He was predeceased by a sister, Deborah Ann Muse; and a companion, Karen Green, who died July 8, 2012.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St. Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Louis Piel officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
