Richard Grant Barnes, 88, of Westminster, died July 19, 2015 at his home. Born April 22, 1927 in Artemas, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley and Sylvia Barnes. He was the husband of Opal Redinger Barnes. Richard was a self employed Drywall Installer. Prior to that, he worked for B&O Railroad. He served in the Army. He enjoyed baseball, sprint car racing and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Doyle Eugene Barnes of Hanover, PA, Richard David Barnes of Pleasant Valley, MD, Douglas Kevin Barnes of Hanover, PA and Rodney Leon Barnes of McSherrystown, PA; sister Mildred Smith of Artemas, PA; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Merle and Donald Barnes and by granddaughter Lea Barnes-Morrill. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Fairview Christian Church, 1751 Crooked Run Rd., Artemas, PA. Officiating will be Rev. Milton Morris. Interment will at Mt.
