Richard Jude Young, 68, of Westminster, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Carroll Hospital Center, due to complications of pneumonia. Richard was born on July 18, 1949 in Lynn, Massachusetts and was the son of the late Richard L. Young, and Dorothy F. (Hennessey) Young. He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Brown) Young, whom he married on July 21, 1973. Richard earned a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Audiology from Towson State University. He was employed as an audiologist for 31 years with the Baltimore County Health Department. Richard was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. He was a former active member of the Maryland Defense Force. Richard loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children Nicole R. (Matthew) Warner of New Freedom and Richard B. Young of Westminster; siblings Kathy (Larry) Quickel, Peggy (Rod) Trimmer, Janet (John) Eline, Theresa Dotzel, Maureen (Bill) Knaub, and Danny (Lisa) Young; grandson Nathan Richard Warner; close family friend Skip Carr and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
