Richard Wayne Hess, 66, passed away January 29, 2018 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.Richard was born on June 30, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents John & Margaret Hess. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Paula Hess; son and daughter-in-law Shayne and Tiffany Hess; granddaughters Delaynie & Everly Hess; father John Hess; brothers Gary Hess, Douglas Hess and John Michael Hess; sisters Joann Ferrare and Diana Blevins. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1973. He was employed with The Arundel Corporation for 25 years and retired in 2016 after working 18 years at Maryland Paving. Richard was a loyal member and former commander of the American Legion in Hampstead, Maryland. Richard and Paula recently retired to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2016. He enjoyed spending time with friends at the American Legion, day trips riding his motorcycle, traveling and most importantly spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held at the Hampstead American Legion at a time of the family's choosing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Legion in Hampstead, Maryland (http://www.alpost200.org/).
