Riley T. Gartrell Jr., 68, of Taylorsville, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Feb. 27, 1945, in Taylorsville, he was the son of the late Riley T. Gartrell and Arta F. Gartrell

He worked in construction until his retirement. His hobbies included toy tractors, farm machinery and gardening.

Surviving are sisters Betty and husband Joe Boone, of Taylorsville, and Patricia Gallucci and Vanessa G. Chrisafis, both of Frederick; brother Ashley and wife Melissa Gartrell, of Union Bridge; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and aunts; and an uncle.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery in New Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
