Robert A. Ramonda, 79, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Sykesville, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Born Jan. 9, 1935, in Osage City, Kansas, he was the son of the late Peter and Agnes Diana Ramonda. He was the husband of Kathleen Wilson, his wife of 56 years. 

He was a 1952 graduate of Osage City High School. He served four years in the Navy and was a 1961 graduate of Kansas State University. He retired as a management analyst, Social Security Administration, Baltimore, and Volume Shoe, Topeka. He and his family lived in Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa and Maryland. He was a member of the Lowell Observatory, Flagstaff, Arizona, for many years.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters DeAnn Ramonda, of Topeka, Laurinda Ramonda Schlesener and husband Steve, of Scranton, Kansas, and Jana Dreasher and husband James, of Eskridge, Kansas; sister Irene Troilo and spouse Dory, of Wichita, Kansas; and grandchildren Antonio "Tony" Ramonda-Pruitt, of Topeka, and Renata Ramonda Knox and husband Tyler, of Concordia, Kansas. 

He was predeceased by siblings Alfred, Leona, Agnes, Ralph and Virginia.

There is no funeral planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
