Robert Lloyd Zentz, 95, of Sykesville, formerly of Taneytown, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Oct. 25, 1917, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Jacob Raymond and Mary Ellen Foy Zent. He was the husband of Mae Elizabeth Hardman Zentz, who died in August 2008.

He was a real estate and insurance broker for many years. He was the proprietor of Zentz Realty in Taneytown.

He was a member of the Westminster Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Taneytown Chamber of Commerce and the Taneytown Lions Club. He enjoyed collecting antique clocks and pocket watches. He was particularly fond of two trips he made to Ireland to visit his cousin.

Surviving are son Carl Zentz and wife Chong, of Glenn Dale; a daughter, Joyce Schaum, of Westminster; grandchildren Joshua Zentz and wife Cherrie, of St. Paul, Minn., Jeremy Zentz, of Oldenburg, Ind., Jason Schaum and wife Bryna, of Abingdon, and Adam Schaum, of Virginia, Minn.; sisters Dolly Meshejian, of Alabama, and Patricia Sherman, of California; a brother, John Zent, of Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters Dorothy Krotsch, Edith Zentz, Marian Schamel and Elva Burnham; and brothers Raymond and Maurice Zent.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery.
