Robert Lee Niner passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015, at the age of 62. He was born May 20, 1952, and lived in Westminster, Maryland with his father, William Joseph Niner, and his step-mother, Mary Elizabeth Niner (both pre-deceased Robert). He graduated from Westminster High School in 1970 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country from 1970 to 1974. He served in Vietnam and earned the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He started in the 3rd Marine Division as a Heavy Equipment Operator and then was transferred to the 1st Marine Division as a Heavy Equipment Operator. In 1977, he married Faye Ann Poff of Hampstead, Maryland. They had 4 sons: William Clayton Niner, Robert Joseph Niner, Benjamin Joshua Niner, and Buddy Lee Niner. He had 6 grandchildren. In 2007, he and his wife moved to Cameron, Montana. Prior to the move he worked for Miles Electric in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon arriving in Montana he worked for True Value in Ennis, Montana. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to fish and watch the wildlife in Montana, but more than anything he loved spending time talking with and helping people. He never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all. Memorial services will be announced to friends and family.
