Robert Lewis Frye Jr., 74 of Sykesville, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown. Born February 7, 1941 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Robert Lewis Frye Sr., and the late Mildred Burns Frye. He was the husband of Linda Frye of Sykesville. They would have celebrated their 54th anniversary in September. He was a 1960 graduate of Sykesville High School. He had worked on a dairy farm in Frederick until he was eighteen. He was owner and operator of Frye & Sons, Inc., from which he retired in 2011. He enjoyed fishing, boating, snowmobiling, four wheeling and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed mowing his grass, and watching football and baseball. He was a lifetime member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and had won many awards. He was also a member of the Westminster Moose Lodge #1381 and the Westminster Elks #2277. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Dale Lewis Frye and his wife Kim of Sykesville, and Dean Lucas Frye and his fiance Karen Raney of Mt. Airy, daughter and son-in-law Deborah Lynn and Michael Finecey of Gerrardstown, WV, brother and sister-in-law Paul Larry and Jeanette Frye of Hampstead, sister Nancy J. Buswell of Owings Mills, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joy and Dean Watt of Westminster, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law William and Marty Mielke of Ocala, FL and Carl and Darlene Mielke of Mt. Airy, grandchildren Shelby Lynn Frye, Ryan Lewis Frye, Jessica Lynn Frye and her fiance Logan Dukehart, Tara Frye, Brady Finecey, Stephanie A. Shaffer, Erin E. Selby, Shannon and Kelsey Raney, and great grandchildren Olivia Shaffer, Ayana Waters, and Jabril Ashby. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Nelson. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Donna Renn officiating. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
