Robert Martin Long, 79, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Aug. 19, 1934, in Granite, he was the son of the late Alvin and Rosalie Goldsborough Long. He was the husband of M. Charlotte Long, who he married Sept. 28, 1968.

Prior to his retirement, he was a furniture finisher, having been employed by Shavitz, Gardiner's and Pasadena Furniture stores.

He enjoyed woodworking, being on his computer and was known as a jokester. He was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan, especially Cal Ripken. He was a member of Westminster Moose 1381. He enjoyed time with his dog, Peanut.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Robin Bonsal, Diann Cammarata and husband Brett, Deborah Barnes and husband Steven, Linda Mangiapane and husband Joseph, all of Westminster, Patricia Leonard, of Johnson City, Tenn., and Lisa Schoenberger and husband Michael, of Hampstead; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was the last of his immediate family.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Glanville, of Northwest Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
