Robert A. Wahlgren of Lutherville, Maryland passed peacefully with family by his side on November 30, 2016 at the age of 86. The son of Arthur and Anna Wahlgren, Bob was born in 1929 in Brockton, Massachusetts and graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago with a degree in business administration. He met Janice Wahlgren, his wife of 63 years, on a blind date arranged by his college roommate who was Jan's cousin. During the Korean War, Bob was stationed in Alaska as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Bob was a gifted pianist and church organist, and enjoyed serving as deacon, elder, and on many committees at Havenwood Presbyterian Church. He and Jan were long-time supporters and volunteers with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Other interests included coaching recreation council ball teams and serving on various committees with Boy Scout Troop 340. Bob had a long and successful career with Amoco Oil Company in both New York City and Baltimore, and upon retirement he and Jan traveled extensively, spent time with friends and family, and enjoyed courses through Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Bob was predeceased by his wife Janice in March 2015. He will be greatly missed by his children, Bruce Wahlgren of Finksburg, Maryland, Lisa Moskios of Timonium, Maryland and Douglas Wahlgren of Wellington, Florida. His six grandchildren are Nathan Wahlgren, Allyson Brothers, Stephanie Moskios, Emily Moskios, and twins Daniel Wahlgren and Samuel Wahlgren. Family will receive visitors at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road in Timonium, Maryland on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Memorial Service celebrating Bob's life will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Havenwood Presbyterian Church, 100 East Ridgely Road in Timonium, Maryland at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please remember Bob with memorial contributions to the Havenwood Fund.
