Robin Lynnette Savage, 48, of Exmore, Va., died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at home, after a long battle with lupus.

A native of New Windsor, she was the daughter of Fred Savage and Sandy Savage, of Exmore.

She was a 1983 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and was an avid softball player, field hockey player and member of the marching band, having performed with the band at Walt Disney World and the Indianapolis 500 race.

She was a member of the Baltimore Ravens marching band and enjoyed playing saxophone, trombone and guitar.

She worked for Masten Lumber Company, Kempsville Building Supply, was a certified Canine Good Citizen trainer, worked with training assistance dogs, and was a member of Onley United Methodist Church.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are maternal grandparents Paul and Viola Koontz, of Exmore; adopted sister Nelda Lafoso and family, of Onancock, Va.; and cousin Shirley Deeds and family, of Accomac, Va.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Onley United Methodist Church, 25642 E. Main St., Onley, Va., with the Rev. Charles W. Parks III officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to SPCA Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418; or to Onley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 98, Onley, VA 23418; or to any animal rescue.

Arrangements are by Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore.
