Roger Kevin Stottlemyer, 40, of Taneytown, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born July 21, 1972, in Frederick, he was the son of Roger W. Stottlemyer, of New Midway, and Patricia E. Long, of Taneytown.

He had worked with his father in construction and excavating. A 1990 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching the Washington Redskins, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are sisters Sheila Stottlemyer and Maria Smith, both of Taneytown; nieces Tiffany Stottlemyer, Chrissy Smith and Megan Hull; a nephew, Michael Long; great-nephews Reecie and Kellan; and a stepmother, Tracy Stottlemyer, of New Midway.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Piney Creek Church of the Brethren, 4699 Teeter Road, Taneytown, with the Rev. Stan Diehl, pastor of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren, and the Rev. James Bussard, pastor of Heritage Park Baptist Church in Keymar officiating. Interment will follow in the Piney Creek Brethren Cemetery.
