Mr. Roland C. (Jim) Stull, 83, of Thurmont passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carolyn Bullock Stull, his wife of 59 years. Born March 9, 1933 in Franklinville, MD, he was one of nine children of the late C. Allen Stull and Lottie Marie Cline Stull. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Weller United Methodist Church, and of the American Legion Post #168 for 45 years. He was co-owner of Stull's Plumbing and Heating in Thurmont for many years with his brother, Clifford, and retired in 1989 to spend more time with his grandsons. Jim looked forward to spending the winter months at their home in Florida, and during the summer feeding his koi fish at their cabin in Fairfield, PA. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his antique Chrysler 300 convertible. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by daughters, Sylvia Brantner and husband Chuck of Rocky Ridge, and Diana Stull and companion, Jeff Powell of Smithsburg, two grandsons, Jason Brantner and wife Kerri of Emmitsburg, and Jared Brantner,of Fairfield, PA and three great grandchildren, Weston, Presley, and Karleigh. He is also survived by brothers, Clifford Stull and wife Margaret, and Chester Stull, and sisters, Priscilla Nash and husband Charlie, all of Thurmont and Shirley Lantz and husband Richard of Foxville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Katherine Bledsoe, Fay Webster, Nancy Stull, and Clara Jean Late. Mr. Stull has donated his body to the Anatomy Board of MD for use in the advancement of medical research and education. A special thanks to his caregivers, Greta, Sonja, and Tara. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Sunday, April 17 from 2:00 - 5:00 beginning with a brief memorial service followed by a time to meet with the family at the Carriage House Inn, 200 S. Seton Ave. Emmitsburg, MD.
