Roland Frederick Becker, Jr., 73, of New Windsor, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. He was born on March 8, 1942 in Baltimore, and was the son of the late Roland Frederick and Stella A. Grygolewski Becker, Sr. He was the loving husband of Sheila Mary (Eyler) Becker his wife of 42 years. Roland was a graduate of Millford Mill High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was employed as a lineman and meter installer for Baltimore Gas & Electric, retiring in April 2000. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and a former member of the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge #1456. He was a collector of stamps, coins, and model trains. Surviving in addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Valerie Becker of Westminster, daughter Celeste Becker of York PA; brother and sister-in-law Gregory and Linda Becker of The Villages, FL; grandchildren Brock Becker of New Windsor and Colin Becker of Westminster; niece and nephew Renee Becker and Dale Becker; and numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment with military honors to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
