Ronald Franklin "Ronnie" Rodkey, 66, of Taneytown, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Dec. 2, 1946, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Roland and Mary Leppo Rodkey. He was the husband of Joan Warner Rodkey, his wife of 38 years.

He was an Army veteran. He was a life-long truck driver and drove for Devilbiss Trucking in Union Bridge, the Harvey Salt Company in Baltimore and Utz Quality Foods in Hanover.

He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown. He was known for his sense of humor, and enjoyed joking around and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Rhonda Atwell and husband Michael, of Taneytown, and Robin DeGroft and husband Jamie, of Cave City, Ky.; sisters Pat Haines, of Westminster, Peggy Warner and husband Sam, of Taneytown, and Debbie Stambaugh and husband Barney, of Westminster; brothers Richard Rodkey and wife Emma, of Taneytown, and David Rodkey and wife Karen, of Littlestown, Pa.; grandchildren Riley DeGroft, and Curtis, Leah, and Victoria Atwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown; and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Monday at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Steven Ostendorf officiating. Interment will follow in Grace UCC Cemetery.
